Travel to Egypt

The antiquity of this land scares and fascinates. Gray old man, otherwise you will not tell. However, they say the same - gray hair in the head, a devil in the rib. Though this saying is not good with respect to the holy places, but still ... Sharm El-Sheikh is a strange Egyptian flower that opens above the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula.

City? Hardly. Meanwhile, airplanes from all over the world fly here, as well as to more shining points of light - Paris, Berlin, Milan (by the way, in order to purchase the cheapest air tickets, they must be booked in advance). They land at a small airfield, something subtly similar to a vegetable garden, without frightening two small black goats wandering in the distance. “Welcome to Sharm El Sheikh!”

The visa is stamped right on the spot. Nimble dark-skinned guys throw your bags into the luggage compartment of the bus with shouts: “Bakshish! Bakshish! ”It looks like they are screaming purely reflexively and strongly on baksheesh - a tip - they do not insist. The bus starts off, and barren bare earth looms outside the window for half an hour - how does it manage to do without a blade of grass? - several completely dried palm trees and black bald mountains on the horizon. How is this a new international resort?

Suffer a little, and the bus slows down against the long wall of the snow-white hotel, sparkling with tall palace windows. There, behind the fence, is a real oasis in the desert. Low juicy palm trees waggle strong fans, a banana tree grows, roses and small southern jasmine with a delicate stupefying smell fragrant. They say that the thermometer is + 35 °, but the heat is not felt. It is dry, as in a sauna, and therefore it is light, and the breeze is constantly blowing from the sea - a beach with shaggy straw umbrellas right there on the territory. Once we sang: "The most blue in the world is my Black Sea." Now I think: the blue is the red. It shines on you from any balcony, from every veranda.

And to whom this sea will seem too salty, is free to prefer a civilized swimming pool to the wild nature. There are no huge bright blue freshwater baths, whole lagoons are poured in exotic parks of three- and five-star hotels. During the day, their implausible azure is burning under the sun, at night the opaque electric lights are tempting to dive, chop a warm living mirror into small splashes. Many pools have a smaller compartment for the kids, as well as a picturesque gazebo growing right out of the water with a bar where a friendly Arab will gladly pour something refreshing.

So, the hotel is an oasis in the desert. Modern oasis, equipped with a jacuzzi, sauna, massage room, disco and gym. There are several restaurants in it: Arabic, Italian, Indian - which one you want, there are hotels where the cuisine changes every day: on Monday they feed in French, on Tuesday in English and so on until the end of the week.

In addition to the various delights of architecture and design - and this stylized Muslim dome, white and squat; and flat Arabian roofs that run down to the sea, on which during the day it is pleasant to weather and sunbathe, and in the evening to smoke hookah; and multi-tiered gold lamps of three meters in the main halls; and filigree carved ceilings; and ominously-solemn statues of the ancient Egyptians, meeting at the entrance, - in addition to what one hotel tries to show off in front of another, you will also find many small surprises: the Arabs are rare masters. Returning after a walk in the room, we wondered every time something else smiling Abdullah who thought up our room would come up with something else. Then on the bed there was a lotus flower twisted from fresh towels, and a nightgown, shyly tucked under a pillow in the morning, reclined next to it in an Odalisque pose; the hard starch towels turned into a white swan or a couple of kissing swans with swans, and the touching couple had a half-dried Chinese red rose flower, one for two.

Sharm el-Sheikh is not a city in the true sense of the word. He has neither the central square, nor the main mosque, nor the city hall. There is no history, or rather, its history is just beginning. This is a giant construction of capitalism in the desert, where only the Bedouins lived recently. Americans, Germans, French invested their money in the construction of numerous hotels that grow like mushrooms. There is only one task: to make the fairy tale "Thousand and One Nights" come true, with Western money and scope, creating truly oriental luxury.

To the hotels are molded benches. They have T-shirts with Egyptian inscriptions, paintings on papyrus, Bedouin burnuses and scarves-arafatki, scarabs of any size and different values - from gold to plastic. It also sells famous Egyptian incense, the basis of many French perfumes.

Many local people speak Russian: some have studied in the Soviet Union once, others have mastered the language in courses in Cairo and have coped well with it. In short, the traces of the former Soviet-Egyptian friendship are found at every step. On the roads of Sinai there are frequent posts and outposts - in case of sabotage by Israel. You drive along the highway - suddenly the road is blocked by heavy striped barrels, the sentry with the “Kalashnikov” runs to the bus, but when hearing from the driver: “tourists” - as a rule, waves his hand: you can not show your passport.

Where is it worth to go? If you manage well with a mask and flippers (they rent not only them, but also a full diver’s ammunition), then go on a trip to the marine reserve. Once Mohammed watch coral bushes and strange fishes.

But, probably, the most amazing - climbing in the footsteps of Moses to Mount Sinai. "And Moses went up the mountain ..." It is easy to say - "I ascended"! Climbed, scrambled! The height is 2285 meters, so go not in a straight line, but along the serpentine. Frankly, older people without sports training are better, maybe refrain from this - the company is not an easy one. Moses, however, almost at eighty accomplished his ascent, but he and Moses! Although stay downstairs - and this beauty can not be seen.

This is traditionally a night trip. Having met the dawn on the mountain of Moses all sins are released. In addition, during the day, a similar forced march is simply impossible due to the scorching heat. As it should be in southern latitudes, darkness immediately falls here without any twilight. Egyptian, of course. The bus will take you to the Orthodox Monastery of St. Catherine (VI century), which stands at the foot of the sacred mountain, Its walls can hardly be guessed in the dark, like the surrounding rocks. It is very cold: from thirty-degree heat, you fall into a temperature of + 7 °. Warm clothing, wool socks and durable, comfortable shoes are essential. Ladies, put on pants - a camel is waiting for you! About him - separately.

You should not be horrified and randomly fight back, when from the darkness Bedouins wrapped in the eyes of the Burnus and shouting “good camelo, good camelo!” (“Good camel” - a mixture of English with Italian. Author's note) rush at you. you by the hand and drag somewhere in the night. These are not robbers, but humble monastic servants. For centuries they live by escorting pilgrims, giving them a camel. Pay thirty-five Egyptian pounds (about ten dollars) and boldly climb into the saddle. You will see a real Arab night - a thousand and one or just one, eternal, with huge stars, to which you will clearly approach, they will increase so much as they rise; with meteorites, generously scribbling the sky, and the month lying horizontally, as if on the local emblems and mosques.

Muslims did not invent their own symbol, they copied it from nature. Under the measured rocking of the camel's hump, no, no, yes, and fear will take: will the animal slumber? Steps on the very edge of the path, and below - a failure. Or maybe the driver fell asleep? It looks like he drags his legs and swings his head. “Listen, Mahmoud! Are you awake? ”No, it seems to be awake.

And all this is not a decoration, not a masquerade for tourists. These people are not mummers. They are really Bedouins and live here in the desert like ten centuries ago. And after that - a pedestrian climb of the steps, carved by the monks in the rocks. If you stop breathing, you will turn around and see - an endless series of pocket lanterns wind up between mountain ledges, as far as the eye can see, Germans, Japanese, Russians, Italians - all sinful humanity rushed up to God. Dante's “Purgatory”, and only. And finally, if you don’t believe yourself, you will step onto a flat platform at the top, you will see a chapel and people waiting for the dawn, and the stars will melt in the morning air.

And below is waiting for the monastery of St. Catherine. The monks sacredly cherish a vibrant green bush - Burning Bush. Attempts by pilgrims to carry a scion with themselves and root it in their native lands turned out to be in vain - it does not take root. Icons in the monastery of Greek letters - the sixth, seventh century.

But that's not all. Excursion to Cairo. You will see the Suez Canal and the huge gray city - the sixteen million Babylon, - smoking at the dawn of the Nile, and the pyramids, and the sphinx ... And the giant mosque of Ali Mohammed, decorated with carved alabaster? A museum of Egyptian art, where you get lost from the abundance of statues of pharaohs, tombs, sarcophagi and sad portraits of Fayum? And here is the oriental bazaar. Narrow streets, cafes, shops, Bargaining is not only possible but necessary! Reduce the proposed price in two or three times - this is the ritual.

After a long journey - how? Am I in Egypt for only a week? Nice to be back in his native Sharm el-Sheikh. Take a ride on a yacht with a transparent bottom, watching the underwater life, and as it gets dark, go to the most crowded part of the resort, Naami Bay area, cafe, restaurants, sea. Street masters sit right there. One paints a T-shirt with the masks of Tutankhamen, in front of the other - a wooden tray with compartments filled with the finest colored sand: yellow, pink, blue. He scoops up the sand with a narrow iron tube and carefully pours it into a thick-walled small bottle. A little white, a little pink. The bottle is quickly filled with a sandy picture: yellow camels against a background of blue and pink mountains, lilac clouds and a colorless sun above them. The sand is poured to the very top, and the vial is tightly corked. Now the flowing landscape is nothing scary. Twist it, turn it over - the pattern will not crumble.

Walking on the apple smell of a flowing smoke, it is good to climb onto the roof of one of the restaurants. There, among the mattresses and pillows, you will bring tea, coffee or hookah with a sealed disposable mouthpiece. And so, leaning back on the sloping headrest, like the Count of Monte Cristo, returning from wandering in the East, listening to the water bubbling in the hookah, you slowly unwind the fragrant smoke of not a poisonous potion, but a soft tobacco with a taste of green apple and looking at the night sky , remember how recently you were alone with the stars that night and saw them as real - naked and silent, without flashlights, blinking ads and music. A sand camel, corked in a bottle, will remind you of live camels on the solemn spurs of Sinai. You will see the distance, the pyramids, and, perhaps, the thought flashes: “But the sun of the desert is indeed white.”

Australian Devil's Balls

In Australia, there is a unique reserve with the unusual name "Devil's Balls". On a wide plain huge granite stones are scattered about randomly, which impress with their gigantic size and unusual shapes. The diameter of some of them reaches 6 meters. Simple and laconic landscape is constantly changing. Especially amazing, it looks at dawn and at sunset. As the lighting changes, the boulders begin to “glow”, and their color changes from pale pink to crimson red.

According to the scientific hypothesis, the age of these stones is several million years. Granite gradually formed from the cooling magma emerging on the surface of the earth, and soft sandstone was located on top of it, which over time was affected by erosion and settled, and granite, on the contrary, came to the surface. The main reason for the split of the stones became sharp temperature drops, which forced the rock to shrink and expand repeatedly.

Australian Aborigines call these lands "Karl-Karl", which literally translates as "round boulders". They consider this place sacred and believe that once the devil himself was here. According to legend, it was during a walk through this valley that the devil wove his headband, which is necessary for all men who have undergone initiation. True, during this action, he dropped some of his hair, which fell to the ground and turned into red stones. However, as the indigenous people themselves say, this “fairy tale” about the origin of granite balls was invented specifically for strangers. The truth is kept secret and only the true owners of these lands can know it.

The natives of the kiteti tribe have their own version explaining the origin of the boulders. They believe that the stones are the eggs of a rainbow snake, the progenitress of humanity and all living things.

Despite the differing hypotheses of the emergence of giant boulders, all the aboriginal tribes worship this place and consider it sacred. Any encroachment on him is considered blasphemous. In the middle of the 20th century, the authorities of the nearby city of Alice Spring took away one of the boulders and installed it as a constituent element of the John Flint memorial. Since the officials did not notify the tribal elders of their actions, a scandal broke out, and in the 90s of the XX century they had to return the stone to their place. After this incident, the reserve remains untouchable.

Currently, the aborigines - the legal owners of the reserve. They received this right in 2008 and at the same time transferred land for lease to the Australian Parks Service for a period of 99 years. Now the park is under the control of two parties: the government and the indigenous people.

The reserve “Devil's Balls” is under special state protection. Tourists are not brought here, so the journey will have to make their own. However, every year from May to October, interesting “live” programs are organized here, which include acquaintance with the park, as well as with the history, culture, traditions and way of life of the indigenous Australian Aborigines. Many come here overnight and stay in a comfortable enough camping to take a break from the bustle of the city. Photographers who are willing to wait for hours to take unique pictures also love these places. The reserve is located 115 kilometers from the city of Tennatn Creek. There is a small regional airport. There are no direct flights from Russia to this city, so the easiest way to get to the reserve is with a transfer in the city of Darwin.

Where better to relax in Thailand?

The territory of Thailand is quite large and there are many diverse resorts here, ranging from popular tourist destinations to lonely and scarcely visited islands. If you decide to visit this country for the first time, then you may have questions about where to rest in Thailand, where are the most beautiful beaches and clear sea, where to go to visit as many interesting sights as possible, where it is cheaper to rest, where to go with children, etc. . I prepared this article to answer such questions and you had a clear understanding of where you should go to Thailand.

Popular resorts

Pattaya

The most popular resort among tourists is Pattaya, it is here most often travel agencies send travelers, as tours to this region are much cheaper than to others.

Benefits:

  1. Developed infrastructure: a large number of large stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, spas, discos, clubs.
  2. The lowest prices in Thailand for housing, transport, clothing, food, and more.
  3. Numerous tourist attractions: a zoo, a water park, a dinosaur park, a crocodile farm, various water sports, elephant riding, go-karting, quad bikes. In Pattaya, you definitely will not be bored!
  4. Urban transport works throughout the city and you will not be difficult to get from one point of Pattaya to another, and the cost of the trip is quite small.
  5. Active nightlife, there is a lot of entertainment for adults, discos and bars.
  6. Not far from Pattaya is Bangkok, 2 hours by bus and you are in the capital of Thailand. There you can enjoy shopping and numerous attractions, thanks to which diversify your holiday.

Disadvantages:

  1. Dirty beaches, garbage can roll along the entire coast, so if you go to Thailand to sunbathe on the beach and swim in the sea, it is better to choose another resort.
  2. In Pattaya, you will not enjoy the beauty of untouched nature, since every square meter is built up with buildings.
  3. The tourist streets are very noisy and crowded, even at night, due to the numerous bars, clubs and discos.

Phuket

Phuket - the second most popular resort and the largest island of Thailand, which is located in the south of the country in the Andaman Sea. But despite its popularity, Phuket is very different from Pattaya.

Benefits:

  1. Clean white beaches and azure sea.
  2. A large number of island tours: Phi Phi, James Bond Island, Similan Islands. However, the prices of such excursions are quite high from 2,000-2500 baht per person.
  3. Phuket is also, as in Pattaya, well developed infrastructure. Large selection of restaurants, cafes, many large stores, clubs and discos.
  4. A lot of fun day and night. Here you will definitely not get bored and will always find where to go and what to do.
  5. Phuket has both noisy parties and quiet places, so everyone will find a rest for themselves.

Disadvantages:

  1. Phuket has high prices (compared to other resorts) for housing, food, transportation, excursions and other tourist services.
  2. Crowds of tourists on the beaches and excursions.

Samui

Rest on the island of Koh Samui is quieter than at the two previous resorts, although there is also a lot of entertainment and nightlife with clubs and bars. Much fewer people rest here compared to Pattaya and Phuket.

Benefits:

  1. Clean beaches, but not as white as Phuket.
  2. The infrastructure is well developed, there are large shops, markets, banks, cafes, restaurants, bars, a wide range of hotels.
  3. A large number of different attractions: Big Buddha, parks, waterfalls and much more.
  4. There are no crowds of tourists, on some beaches you can relax alone.

Disadvantages:

  1. Not as vivid nightlife as in Pattaya and Phuket.
  2. There are no direct flights from Russia to Samui, so you will have to travel with a transfer in Bangkok or Phuket.

Phangan

Calm small island with white and clean beaches. Ideal for a quiet family holiday. Only on several beaches during the full moon period, the famous “Full Moon Party” party takes place, where a large number of young people gather and they dance the whole night. The rest of the time, the island lives a quiet measured life. Therefore, Koh Phangan will be an ideal place for lovers of parties and parties, as well as for those who like a secluded and relaxing holiday.

Party "Full Moon Party"

Krabi

Only recently, tourists from Russia began to visit the Krabi province, before it was mostly Europeans who rested here.

Krabi will delight you with clean white beaches, untouched nature and incredibly beautiful views. Also, the province of Krabi is called the country of thousands of islands, as there are a large number of islands nearby that you can visit and admire the stunning views and beauty of untouched nature. The great advantage of Krabi holidays is the humane prices of island excursions. A trip to the Phi Phi Islands will cost you about 500 baht as opposed to 2,000 baht in Phuket.

Hua Hin

Hua-Hin is gaining its popularity among tourists and is a wonderful place to relax. It is located on the shores of the Gulf of Siam, 3 hours from Bangkok. The infrastructure is quite well developed in Hua Hin. There is a wide range of excursions and entertainment. The beaches are not as white as Phuket, but much cleaner than in Pattaya. Prices in Hua Hin are quite high, especially in the city center. If you go to Thailand for a beach holiday, but do not want to break away from the benefits of civilization, then Hua Hin will be a great place for you.

Koh chang

Koh Chang is great for a relaxing beach holiday. The infrastructure here is developed at an average level, there are not enough large shopping centers. The beaches are snow-white and clean, the nature is beautiful. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, then go to Koh Chang, where you can enjoy the beauty of the local nature and measured calm rest.

Bangkok

Bangkok is a metropolis where life is full of 24 hours a day. There is a wide range of attractions and entertainment. And shopping is just a paradise for the female half of humanity. If you like the urban atmosphere, you want to visit a large number of attractions and make great purchases, then go to Bangkok. But even if you decide to relax on the sea, the capital of Thailand will be a great addition to a beach holiday.

Northern thailand

The northern capital of Thailand is Chiang Mai. There is no access to the sea, however, you will enjoy the incredibly beautiful landscapes around. It is in the north that you will experience the real Thai life and plunge into the national culture as much as possible. Here you will see rice fields, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, a large number of attractions. Not far from the city of Chiang Rai is the famous White Temple Wat Rong Khun, which will amaze you with its uniqueness and grandeur.

Secluded and obscure places

Despite the fact that Tourism is actively developing in Thailand, there are still little-visited secluded places with virgin, incredibly beautiful nature. If you want a relaxing holiday away from the city noise, then go to one of the following islands: Samet, Lanta or Lipa. They will delight you with their clean white beaches, azure sea and incredibly beautiful landscapes. The disadvantage of these islands is the underdeveloped infrastructure: cafes and restaurants, and very few shops. But if your goal is a quiet beach holiday away from civilization, then you will love the islands.

Final conclusions

If you go to Thailand for fun, active nightlife, then the best place for you will be Pattaya or Bangkok, as well as the party "Full Moon Party" on the island of Phangan.

For those who want to spend time on the beach without interruption from civilization, then go to Phuket, Samui, Hua Hin, Ko Chang, Krabi or Phangan.

Go shopping in Bangkok or Pattaya.

If you want to be away from the bustle of the city alone and enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes, the islands of Samet, Lanta or Lipe are waiting for you.

For a holiday with children, I can advise Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Phangan or Hua-Hin. But if the priority is not a beach holiday, but entertainment, then Pattaya is better, as there are more entertainment places, including for children (water park, aquarium, attractions, zoos, etc.).

10 reasons to go to Australia

It seems that Australia is equally far away from any part of the world. And the more surprising is the fact that this country is considered one of the most popular destinations among budget travelers. It does not always mean expensive, so we found 10 reasons why you should visit Australia.

Great Barrier Reef

Australia has one of the world's most famous reef systems, in which most of the famous marine animals live. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the best diving spots on the planet. Here you can see various turtles, the most exotic sharks, small bright fish and, of course, the incredible beauty of corals. Someone spends just a day here, and someone will be a little week, so be guided by their feelings. Traditionally, travelers travel to the Reef from the city of Cairns, but you will see much more interesting if you leave Port Douglas.

Sydney

In addition to the world-famous opera, Sydney has an amazing harbor, lots of huge bridges, cozy parks, amazing surfing and amazingly tasty food. It doesn't matter if you go to Manly Beach or stay in Bondi, you will get great pleasure anyway. In the harbor of Darling you will find many quality restaurants and a lot of entertainment for every taste. And in search of leisure at night it is better to look into the King Cross area.

Uluru

Uluru is a giant round stone. And if it seems to you that a thing with such a description cannot be interesting, you are mistaken. The surface resembles a wave shape, but differs in a reddish-orange color due to the increased iron content. This unusual shape was formed over thousands of years because of the wind. Many residents refer to this place as sacred, so when visiting, remain polite and correct.

Tour to Uluru is best to take from the nearby city of Alice Springs.

B-B-Q

Australians know a lot about things, and barbecue is one of those that you should definitely try in Australia. Meat, or rather the process itself, is taken very seriously, even has its own traditions, and specially designated places for roasting meat (they can be found in almost every park). Just imagine: a warm summer night, a few glasses of beer or wine and excellent meat ... Do I need anything else to fall in love with this country?

Wine

In Australia, there are several regions that are famous for their vineyards - this is the valley of the river Margaret (near Perth), the valley of Barossa (near Adelaide) and the valley of Hunter (near Sydney). And this is not all wine worth trying in Australia. Look especially at shiraz and pinot noir varieties. You can book a tour of the vineyards in a separate tour, you can go to a good wine boutique and order a tasting for yourself, and after that you can drink a bottle you like in one of the city parks.

Western Australia

This is one of the most unpopular tourist regions of the country, which is surprising. It seems that the place has been deprived of attention completely undeservedly: there is beautiful nature and excellent beaches (without a single soul in the area). If you like the Great Barrier Reef, also take a trip to Coral Bay and the Ningalo Reef.

Perth

Sydney and Melbourne usually get all the attention of visitors, but Perth deserves it no less. There are gorgeous beaches, huge parks, good surfing waves and the best beer in Australia - Little Creatures.

In Perth, most of the population is young, so the atmosphere in the city is very lively. The biggest and most fun parties usually take place on Sundays at the Cottesloe.

Surfing

Although surfing was not invented in Australia, it is difficult to imagine another place where this sport would also be considered part of the culture. The best surfing spots are on the east coast. Among the most popular are Noosa, Bondi Beach and Waves in Queensland.

Beaches

In a country where the beaches occupy 50,000 km, it is difficult not to admire them. Usually, the east coast is more loaded than the west coast, but with such a coastline, you will not be left without personal space. If you still highlight the best beaches, then among them there will definitely be Coral Bay, Cable Beach, Noosa, Manly and almost everything that is near Perth.

Chic Jungle

Queensland is one of the oldest tropical forests in the world. Here are great trails for trekking and hiking, here lives a lot of birds and other animals. There are even crocodiles. Plus, in this part of the country there are many crystal clear rivers where you can swim on a hot day. But if you want to be alone with nature, then go to Cape Tribulation: there will be nothing except you, the jungle and the ocean.

US natural beauty

North America is much less popular among Russian tourists than in Europe and Asia. Some travelers are stopped by a long flight across the ocean, others are confused by high prices. And besides, thanks to Hollywood in the minds of many of the USA, these are huge cities and skyscrapers or small, calm (and boring) towns with similar two-story houses. However, America has something to brag about in terms of natural attractions, many of which are capable of striking to the depths of the soul.

In one article, it is impossible to cover everything at once, so here are only the most interesting and popular places. They are selected here so that they can be visited in one trip. All of them are located in the neighboring states - Arizona, Utah, California and Nevada.

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is undoubtedly the most famous natural landmark and the greatest pride of America. It is inferior to some other canyons in its beauty, but it definitely wins in terms of size and grandeur - just think about it, its length is almost 450 kilometers, its width reaches 30 kilometers, and its depth is more than 2 kilometers! In order to see the Grand Canyon in all its glory, you can go on a tour by helicopter and fly above it or look at it from one of the viewing platforms, while the canyon looks completely different from different sides.

If the view from above is not enough, you can go down to its bottom. Again, the easiest and fastest way is to pay for a helicopter tour, but the most sporty one is to do pedestrian trekking. Such a walk takes more than 10 hours and, as a rule, includes an overnight stay downstairs, because in one day it is almost impossible to make this trip, especially in summer, in the heat. The intermediate option between the helicopter and the pedestrian trekking is downhill on horseback, this method is also popular.

Antelope Canyon

Against the backdrop of the giant Grand Canyon, the Antelope Canyon looks like a kid, but this does not prevent him from being fantastic and unreal beautiful! This is one of the most unusual and fascinating canyons in America - from the side it is not visible, it is located in a crevice, and the entrance looks like a narrow crack in the ground, past which you can easily pass without noticing if you walk without an accompanying person. But as soon as you descend down, your heart literally stops with delight!

Nature has worked on this creation for thousands of years, and as a result, it is truly a masterpiece. It is very difficult to describe it in words and even in photos not to convey all the beauty. This is the place that you must see with your own eyes.

It is best to descend into the canyon at certain hours when the sun's rays fall through a crevice at a particular angle and illuminate the canyon from the inside. It is at such moments that a special and absolutely magical atmosphere reigns here.

By the way, on a hot summer day, this canyon has another significant plus - it’s pretty cool throughout the day and you can take a break from the heat.

Antelope Canyon cannot be reached without a guide - the fact is that on rainy days a lot of water gets there, and since this canyon is very deep, it is rather difficult to quickly return from it to the surface. One of these unexpected floods, which happened about 20 years ago, claimed the lives of several people. Therefore, security issues are treated very strictly here.

Death Valley

Death Valley is another iconic place to which many legends are devoted and which attracts the attention of tourists. That's what good marketing means - it’s enough to give the place an intriguing name and popularity is ensured =)

But its unusual name this place was not at all due to high mortality, as it might seem, but because of the poor vegetation and poor animal world - in Death Valley there are practically no inhabitants and almost nothing grows. However, according to one of the legends, the valley got its gloomy name because of the death of one of the members of the group of gold miners who tried to overcome the desert, so everyone can choose the story of the appearance of the name according to their taste.

The territory of Death Valley is very large; so that you can look around all the interesting places thoughtfully, without haste and fuss, it’s better to lay a visit there for a couple of days, although if time is tight, you can gallop round everything in a day.

You should not think that there is nothing to see in such a rotten place, the variety of natural attractions here is impressive! The salt lake and sand dunes, moving stones and the ghost town of Rhyolite, the artist's palette and the Devil's golf course, as well as a desert, a volcano, breathtaking landscapes and dozens of kilometers of scenic roads.

Sequoia Park

As the name suggests, Sequoia National Park has gained popularity due to the giant redwoods - the 5 largest trees in the world grow here. The largest of them - the tree of General Sherman - so huge that it would take about 14 people to clasp it at the base.

To make it even easier to estimate the size of the tree, imagine that it would take three lanes if you suddenly decided to build a highway through it. And in order to estimate its height, imagine that if a tree were cut down, it would not fit on a football field.

In addition, there are more curious specimens in the park - for example, a tree lying across the road in which a car tunnel was cut down; Apparently, it was easier to do this than to clean it altogether. There are smaller trees; they have made passages for people.

There are many walking routes in the park - people come here to make trekking of various lengths: from half an hour to several days.

Monument Valley

Monument Valley is located on the reservation area of the Navajo Indian tribe. If this is not the most recognizable natural place of America, then one of the most popular for sure.

It is here that runs the famous road disappearing in the rocks, which has repeatedly appeared in Westerns, and the monuments themselves often flash in the films and are “shot” in advertising.

It is best to drive up to the Monument Valley at dawn - at this particular time, thanks to the illuminated rocks, the view will be the most impressive. But the monuments themselves look best at sunset - the sun illuminates them favorably, and dozens of people come to the observation deck to see it every day.

Bryce canyon

Bryce Canyon is completely different from other American canyons. As in many other places, one question unwittingly arises - how? How could nature have created such a miracle? What had to happen here over the centuries for this creature to form? And why, literally a hundred kilometers away, are there other canyons that look completely different?

Bryce Canyon consists of a variety of rocky arrays of bizarre shapes of various shades - from pale pink to bright red, and many of them even have their own names, derived from their similarity to one or other objects.

It is best to admire Bryce Canyon from observation platforms, but, unlike the Grand Canyon, it is not so deep, so if you wish, it is quite easy to go down and walk along its bottom, among the red rocks.
