10 reasons to go to Australia

It seems that Australia is equally far away from any part of the world. And the more surprising is the fact that this country is considered one of the most popular destinations among budget travelers. It does not always mean expensive, so we found 10 reasons why you should visit Australia.

Great Barrier Reef

Australia has one of the world's most famous reef systems, in which most of the famous marine animals live. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the best diving spots on the planet. Here you can see various turtles, the most exotic sharks, small bright fish and, of course, the incredible beauty of corals. Someone spends just a day here, and someone will be a little week, so be guided by their feelings. Traditionally, travelers travel to the Reef from the city of Cairns, but you will see much more interesting if you leave Port Douglas.

Sydney

In addition to the world-famous opera, Sydney has an amazing harbor, lots of huge bridges, cozy parks, amazing surfing and amazingly tasty food. It doesn't matter if you go to Manly Beach or stay in Bondi, you will get great pleasure anyway. In the harbor of Darling you will find many quality restaurants and a lot of entertainment for every taste. And in search of leisure at night it is better to look into the King Cross area.

Uluru

Uluru is a giant round stone. And if it seems to you that a thing with such a description cannot be interesting, you are mistaken. The surface resembles a wave shape, but differs in a reddish-orange color due to the increased iron content. This unusual shape was formed over thousands of years because of the wind. Many residents refer to this place as sacred, so when visiting, remain polite and correct.

Tour to Uluru is best to take from the nearby city of Alice Springs.

B-B-Q

Australians know a lot about things, and barbecue is one of those that you should definitely try in Australia. Meat, or rather the process itself, is taken very seriously, even has its own traditions, and specially designated places for roasting meat (they can be found in almost every park). Just imagine: a warm summer night, a few glasses of beer or wine and excellent meat ... Do I need anything else to fall in love with this country?

Wine

In Australia, there are several regions that are famous for their vineyards - this is the valley of the river Margaret (near Perth), the valley of Barossa (near Adelaide) and the valley of Hunter (near Sydney). And this is not all wine worth trying in Australia. Look especially at shiraz and pinot noir varieties. You can book a tour of the vineyards in a separate tour, you can go to a good wine boutique and order a tasting for yourself, and after that you can drink a bottle you like in one of the city parks.

Western Australia

This is one of the most unpopular tourist regions of the country, which is surprising. It seems that the place has been deprived of attention completely undeservedly: there is beautiful nature and excellent beaches (without a single soul in the area). If you like the Great Barrier Reef, also take a trip to Coral Bay and the Ningalo Reef.

Perth

Sydney and Melbourne usually get all the attention of visitors, but Perth deserves it no less. There are gorgeous beaches, huge parks, good surfing waves and the best beer in Australia - Little Creatures.

In Perth, most of the population is young, so the atmosphere in the city is very lively. The biggest and most fun parties usually take place on Sundays at the Cottesloe.

Surfing

Although surfing was not invented in Australia, it is difficult to imagine another place where this sport would also be considered part of the culture. The best surfing spots are on the east coast. Among the most popular are Noosa, Bondi Beach and Waves in Queensland.

Beaches

In a country where the beaches occupy 50,000 km, it is difficult not to admire them. Usually, the east coast is more loaded than the west coast, but with such a coastline, you will not be left without personal space. If you still highlight the best beaches, then among them there will definitely be Coral Bay, Cable Beach, Noosa, Manly and almost everything that is near Perth.

Chic Jungle

Queensland is one of the oldest tropical forests in the world. Here are great trails for trekking and hiking, here lives a lot of birds and other animals. There are even crocodiles. Plus, in this part of the country there are many crystal clear rivers where you can swim on a hot day. But if you want to be alone with nature, then go to Cape Tribulation: there will be nothing except you, the jungle and the ocean.

Devil's Balls of Australian

In Australia, there is a unique reserve with the unusual name "Devil's Balls". On a wide plain huge granite stones are scattered about randomly, which impress with their gigantic size and unusual shapes. The diameter of some of them reaches 6 meters. Simple and laconic landscape is constantly changing. Especially amazing, it looks at dawn and at sunset. As the lighting changes, the boulders begin to “glow”, and their color changes from pale pink to crimson red.

According to the scientific hypothesis, the age of these stones is several million years. Granite gradually formed from the cooling magma emerging on the surface of the earth, and soft sandstone was located on top of it, which over time was affected by erosion and settled, and granite, on the contrary, came to the surface. The main reason for the split of the stones became sharp temperature drops, which forced the rock to shrink and expand repeatedly.

Australian Aborigines call these lands "Karl-Karl", which literally translates as "round boulders". They consider this place sacred and believe that once the devil himself was here. According to legend, it was during a walk through this valley that the devil wove his headband, which is necessary for all men who have undergone initiation. True, during this action, he dropped some of his hair, which fell to the ground and turned into red stones. However, as the indigenous people themselves say, this “fairy tale” about the origin of granite balls was invented specifically for strangers. The truth is kept secret and only the true owners of these lands can know it.

The natives of the kiteti tribe have their own version explaining the origin of the boulders. They believe that the stones are the eggs of a rainbow snake, the progenitress of humanity and all living things.

Despite the differing hypotheses of the emergence of giant boulders, all the aboriginal tribes worship this place and consider it sacred. Any encroachment on him is considered blasphemous. In the middle of the 20th century, the authorities of the nearby city of Alice Spring took away one of the boulders and installed it as a constituent element of the John Flint memorial. Since the officials did not notify the tribal elders of their actions, a scandal broke out, and in the 90s of the XX century they had to return the stone to their place. After this incident, the reserve remains untouchable.

Currently, the aborigines - the legal owners of the reserve. They received this right in 2008 and at the same time transferred land for lease to the Australian Parks Service for a period of 99 years. Now the park is under the control of two parties: the government and the indigenous people.

The reserve “Devil's Balls” is under special state protection. Tourists are not brought here, so the journey will have to make their own. However, every year from May to October, interesting “live” programs are organized here, which include acquaintance with the park, as well as with the history, culture, traditions and way of life of the indigenous Australian Aborigines. Many come here overnight and stay in a comfortable enough camping to take a break from the bustle of the city. Photographers who are willing to wait for hours to take unique pictures also love these places. The reserve is located 115 kilometers from the city of Tennatn Creek. There is a small regional airport. There are no direct flights from Russia to this city, so the easiest way to get to the reserve is with a transfer in the city of Darwin.

US natural beauty

North America is much less popular among Russian tourists than in Europe and Asia. Some travelers are stopped by a long flight across the ocean, others are confused by high prices. And besides, thanks to Hollywood in the minds of many of the USA, these are huge cities and skyscrapers or small, calm (and boring) towns with similar two-story houses. However, America has something to brag about in terms of natural attractions, many of which are capable of striking to the depths of the soul.

In one article, it is impossible to cover everything at once, so here are only the most interesting and popular places. They are selected here so that they can be visited in one trip. All of them are located in the neighboring states - Arizona, Utah, California and Nevada.

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is undoubtedly the most famous natural landmark and the greatest pride of America. It is inferior to some other canyons in its beauty, but it definitely wins in terms of size and grandeur - just think about it, its length is almost 450 kilometers, its width reaches 30 kilometers, and its depth is more than 2 kilometers! In order to see the Grand Canyon in all its glory, you can go on a tour by helicopter and fly above it or look at it from one of the viewing platforms, while the canyon looks completely different from different sides.

If the view from above is not enough, you can go down to its bottom. Again, the easiest and fastest way is to pay for a helicopter tour, but the most sporty one is to do pedestrian trekking. Such a walk takes more than 10 hours and, as a rule, includes an overnight stay downstairs, because in one day it is almost impossible to make this trip, especially in summer, in the heat. The intermediate option between the helicopter and the pedestrian trekking is downhill on horseback, this method is also popular.

Antelope Canyon

Against the backdrop of the giant Grand Canyon, the Antelope Canyon looks like a kid, but this does not prevent him from being fantastic and unreal beautiful! This is one of the most unusual and fascinating canyons in America - from the side it is not visible, it is located in a crevice, and the entrance looks like a narrow crack in the ground, past which you can easily pass without noticing if you walk without an accompanying person. But as soon as you descend down, your heart literally stops with delight!

Nature has worked on this creation for thousands of years, and as a result, it is truly a masterpiece. It is very difficult to describe it in words and even in photos not to convey all the beauty. This is the place that you must see with your own eyes.

It is best to descend into the canyon at certain hours when the sun's rays fall through a crevice at a particular angle and illuminate the canyon from the inside. It is at such moments that a special and absolutely magical atmosphere reigns here.

By the way, on a hot summer day, this canyon has another significant plus - it’s pretty cool throughout the day and you can take a break from the heat.

Antelope Canyon cannot be reached without a guide - the fact is that on rainy days a lot of water gets there, and since this canyon is very deep, it is rather difficult to quickly return from it to the surface. One of these unexpected floods, which happened about 20 years ago, claimed the lives of several people. Therefore, security issues are treated very strictly here.

Death Valley

Death Valley is another iconic place to which many legends are devoted and which attracts the attention of tourists. That's what good marketing means - it’s enough to give the place an intriguing name and popularity is ensured =)

But its unusual name this place was not at all due to high mortality, as it might seem, but because of the poor vegetation and poor animal world - in Death Valley there are practically no inhabitants and almost nothing grows. However, according to one of the legends, the valley got its gloomy name because of the death of one of the members of the group of gold miners who tried to overcome the desert, so everyone can choose the story of the appearance of the name according to their taste.

The territory of Death Valley is very large; so that you can look around all the interesting places thoughtfully, without haste and fuss, it’s better to lay a visit there for a couple of days, although if time is tight, you can gallop round everything in a day.

You should not think that there is nothing to see in such a rotten place, the variety of natural attractions here is impressive! The salt lake and sand dunes, moving stones and the ghost town of Rhyolite, the artist's palette and the Devil's golf course, as well as a desert, a volcano, breathtaking landscapes and dozens of kilometers of scenic roads.

Sequoia Park

As the name suggests, Sequoia National Park has gained popularity due to the giant redwoods - the 5 largest trees in the world grow here. The largest of them - the tree of General Sherman - so huge that it would take about 14 people to clasp it at the base.

To make it even easier to estimate the size of the tree, imagine that it would take three lanes if you suddenly decided to build a highway through it. And in order to estimate its height, imagine that if a tree were cut down, it would not fit on a football field.

In addition, there are more curious specimens in the park - for example, a tree lying across the road in which a car tunnel was cut down; Apparently, it was easier to do this than to clean it altogether. There are smaller trees; they have made passages for people.

There are many walking routes in the park - people come here to make trekking of various lengths: from half an hour to several days.

Monument Valley

Monument Valley is located on the reservation area of the Navajo Indian tribe. If this is not the most recognizable natural place of America, then one of the most popular for sure.

It is here that runs the famous road disappearing in the rocks, which has repeatedly appeared in Westerns, and the monuments themselves often flash in the films and are “shot” in advertising.

It is best to drive up to the Monument Valley at dawn - at this particular time, thanks to the illuminated rocks, the view will be the most impressive. But the monuments themselves look best at sunset - the sun illuminates them favorably, and dozens of people come to the observation deck to see it every day.

Bryce canyon

Bryce Canyon is completely different from other American canyons. As in many other places, one question unwittingly arises - how? How could nature have created such a miracle? What had to happen here over the centuries for this creature to form? And why, literally a hundred kilometers away, are there other canyons that look completely different?

Bryce Canyon consists of a variety of rocky arrays of bizarre shapes of various shades - from pale pink to bright red, and many of them even have their own names, derived from their similarity to one or other objects.

It is best to admire Bryce Canyon from observation platforms, but, unlike the Grand Canyon, it is not so deep, so if you wish, it is quite easy to go down and walk along its bottom, among the red rocks. Here, too, there are tracking routes of varying complexity, there are simple ones among them, so everyone can find a suitable option.

Americans love and appreciate their natural beauty, many are happy to spend the weekend in national parks - there you can meet people of completely different ages, including retirees and couples with babies. And frankly, they can be understood - there are really a lot of amazing places, so choosing a place for another vacation, the option of a trip to the USA can be safely considered not only to lovers of megacities and casinos, but also to nature lovers!

Resorts of Hungary

Hungary is a special country. In its relatively small area there are about 60 thousand sources with healing mineral water. There is no such concentration of thermal water anywhere else in the world. In Budapest alone, there are more than 130 thermal springs and baths. But since Budapest Hungary is not exhausted, we invite you on a trip to the most important water resorts of this country. You can swim here all year round, both in closed aqua-complexes and under the open sky: in swimming pools, pools and even lakes. Such swimming is not only pleasant, but also useful. And most importantly - it can be combined with a diverse cultural program. By the way, spring is the best time to visit Hungary. Here it is sunny, everywhere there are flowering fruit trees, and this is the most comfortable season for swimming in the hot outdoor pools.

Heviz

This cozy town stretches on the shores of the world's largest thermal reservoir - Lake Heviz. The lake has the shape of a funnel with a depth of 38 meters. At the very bottom is an underwater cave from which three thermal keys are beaten. In summer, the water in the lake warms up to 32 degrees, and in winter it never drops less than 24 degrees. Thanks to the funnel shape, the water is constantly mixed, and therefore its temperature at any point of the lake is the same. The surface of the reservoir is decorated with pink water lilies, imported from India. They are even depicted on the coat of arms of the city.

Hajdúszoboszlo

The largest spa complex in Europe is located in Hajdúszoboszló. Accordingly, services and entertainment here - for every taste and wallet. In addition, in the city - a huge number of a wide variety of swimming pools and pools with thermal water. The main highlight is the so-called Mediterranean beach with a palm alley. Also in Hajdúszoboszló is the largest aqua park in Hungary. The total length of the slides in it - more than a kilometer. In children, super-realistic animal sculptures standing right in the pools are fascinating.

The beach and water park are open from May to late autumn. Aqua Palace (8 pools with different water temperatures, giant slides and other amusements) - all year round.

Eger

The city of Eger is famous, above all, for its medieval fortress, but there are plenty of opportunities for bathing in hot springs too. In addition to the usual for Hungary pools and spa complexes, in Eger you can visit the traditional Turkish baths, preserved from the time of the Ottoman invasion.

In the suburb of Eger, in the town of Egerszalók, which can be reached by local transport for 10 minutes, there is another thermal park with plenty of water activities and limestone artificial hills, reminiscent of Turkish Pamukkale.

Eger is famous for its wines. Especially appreciated by connoisseurs is the famous Eger wine “Bull blood” (Egri bikavér), which is sold here for bottling in any catering establishment. If you want to get closer to the secrets of Eger wine, visit the Valley of Beauties, it is only 20 minutes walk from the historic center of the city.

Debrecen

Due to the local climate and the resort atmosphere prevailing in the city, the city of Debrecen is often called the “Hungarian Mediterranean”. In confirmation of this, in 2003, the Aquatiquum Mediterranean Swimming Pool was opened here: surrounded by a wide variety of tropical plants, there are various slides, hydromassage pools, geysers, rivers, waterfalls and bathing caves.

In the north, the Nadierde forest park (the Great Forest) adjoins the city, walking through which you can come across an amusement park, a zoo or a botanical garden.

Particularly interesting is to visit Debrecen during the August Carnival of Flowers and the Balloon Festival, which is held in October.

Miskolc-Tapolca

Glory to the city of Miskolc-Tapolca brought its unique swimming pool, located in a natural karst cave. Moreover, this is not a single cave, but a whole cave complex with a multitude of illuminated halls, grottoes and a labyrinth of passages, which unexpectedly lead bathers to open-air swimming pools.

There is an open thermal lake, surrounded by a picturesque beech forest, and the old Town Hall Square, and Diosdieur Castle, the residence of King Lajos the Great, and not far from Miskolc, in the beautiful valley of the Sinwa River lies the climate resort of Lillafured, with its famous castle, whose towers are reflected in Emerald waters of Lake Hamori.

Sarvar

In the 60s of the last century, oil was searched here, and they discovered one of the deepest deposits of thermal waters in the country. Hot water in the pools and swimming pools of Sharvar comes from a record depth of two kilometers. Its temperature is plus 83 degrees, so before applying it even has to cool. The healing salt, the famous Sharvar crystal, is extracted from this water.

In the city it is interesting to explore the Renaissance Nadashi castle and arboretum.

On the edge of the earth

Probably in the world there is not a single person who does not dream of going to Hawaii, except, of course, for the lucky ones who were born there. The beauty of this paradise is that no matter how colorful the pictures would paint your imagination, the reality will surpass expectations so much that after Hawaii it will be impossible to surprise you with the beauty of tropical nature and the ocean. Today we will talk about the most beautiful beaches and coasts of Oahu.

Oahu is the one on which the capital of Hawaii is the city of Honolulu. During the day, it can be called an ordinary resort metropolis: 40-storey hotels, shopping centers and a long beach, some of which are occupied by surfers, and the other is separated by breakwaters and given to bathers. But at night Honolulu is transformed: all the streets are lit not with lanterns, but with real torches with live fire, and from the beach there opens a breathtaking view of the glowing city and its reflection in the ocean. It is definitely worth staying at least 20 floors, rent a car with an open top and go all over the island.

Hanauma Bay, on the southeastern shore of Oahu, is the most popular snorkeling beach (snorkeling and snorkeling). It is enclosed in a rocky volcanic ring with a small strait into the ocean. A narrow path leads from a sandy beach to a cliff, and if you walk along it to the end, you can see a natural bridge made of stone, which runs right above the raging waves. Walking along it, however, is not recommended, since an unexpectedly rolled large wave can knock you off your feet, so it's best to admire from a safe distance.

The incredibly beautiful beach with dazzling white sand is called consonant to the famous liqueur - Kalua. The ocean there is absolutely amazing, from the shore it looks as if the milk was painted blue, but if you go at least ankle-deep, it turns out that the water is absolutely clear, but with the temperature it just looks like fresh milk. From the beach there is a stunning view of the volcano, and here you can rent a kayak and swim to a small flat island 400 meters from the shore. Bring your shoes with you, as you are allowed to walk only along the sharp stony edge of this island, while its center is placed at the disposal of nesting birds.

If you like to dive into the water, on Oahu there are quite a few rocks hanging over the bays. Including China Volz, that is, the Chinese walls, located near the southernmost point of the island. In the days when the ocean is calm, you can jump into the water from a cliff from several levels, higher and lower. If the waves are big, the jumps become too dangerous, but you can watch the surfers from an unusual and very interesting perspective. Everything looks like shooting from a drone, but only live, when the heart stops from understanding that one wrong move - and the person with the board will fly straight into the stones.

Everything in Hawaii seems so magical that, looking at the ocean, it is easy to believe in the existence of mermaids. They would even have their own home here, the Mermaid Caves. The rock on the western shore of the Nanakuli Beach Park is riddled with a network of tunnels, in the arches of which there are a lot of small holes. Sun rays make their way through them, illuminating the water and painting the walls of the cave with sunbeams. The depth of the bay and the height of the arches are small, just under the human height, so that in anticipation of the mermaids there you can spend even a whole day, and it does not matter that they probably will not sail.

If it happens that you arrive in Hawaii in December, be sure to go to the north coast to watch the spectacular Billabong Pipe Masters surfing competition. All surfing stars come here to compete for the title of world champion, and the action takes place on the most dangerous and powerful wave of the island. The event is more than interesting even for those who are far from surfing.

As a bonus, I want to give you advice on how to further brighten up the already exciting road to all these places. On the fertile soil of Oahu grow the most sweet and juicy pineapples, not for nothing that there are plantations Dole. Along the roads of the island there are often small tents, where they sell both whole and already chopped pineapples, and even seasoned with different spices, what is needed for a snack on the go. Well, when you get hungry for real, order, of course, Hawaiian pizza!
